Welcome to "The Academic." This is where you will find my pieces that I have completed during by collegiate career, specifically during Professional Writing and Rhetoric courses.

Although I have been a Professional Writing and Rhetoric major for less than a year, the concepts I've learned have completely changed who I am as a writer. I'm no longer just a writer; I'm a planner, I'm an orator, I'm an arguer, and I'm a critical thinker. Joining this major has taught me to not just look at the written document, but too look at all encompassing elements. Who is the audience? How will this information be perceived? What can I do to make it perceived in the best way possible?

By asking these questions, incorporating a newfound awareness for my audience, and additionally paying more attention to detail, I've become a student of writing who will utilize these learned concepts within all facets of life. I believe that my newfound knowledge shines through with the pieces I've decided to include in this section.
