The Experimenter

Dear Reviewer,

Welcome to my final section! This is "The Experimenter." I chose to incorporate this section because it includes the pieces where I had to write completely out of my comfort zone or for a drastically different audience. These are the pieces that have made me a more fluid, adaptable writer, a skill that I believe that writing in a rhetorical context is all about.

The grant was a huge "experiment" for my writing abilities because it was a situation where I was thrust into trying something new that would benefit the greater good of multiple classes (Grant Writing and Writing as Inquiry). The Definition of Rhetoric project forced me to explain rhetoric within a completely different context, setting, and to an audience group I had never addressed before. Although both were projects I felt a bit uneasy with during the planning stages, both became projects that I has extremely proud of during the final revision stages.

Both of these pieces and "experimental writing" as a whole have taught me that sometimes, the best pieces come when you are thrown into them; an outsider's perspective can make a world of a difference and could generate an idea that has never been seen before. I hope you enjoy perusing these documents and have a better sense for me as a writer through a different lense!

Thank you again, enjoy!

Best regards,
